Security Department
The aim of security department on MEF campus is to provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors and tenants. Security officers work 24 hours in order to make the campus a safe place to live, work and stay. The department has well trained officers in carrying and using a firearm and ammunition owned by an association in accordance to Firearm Act 1969 and Firearm regulations 1970 of the laws of Zambia. Security officers provide both emergency and non-emergency services that every person may expect, need and deserve.
Some of the services that security officers provide include.
Receiving guests/ escorting services
Security officers are the first to receive guests and show them their way, They work in hand with the receptionist to escort clients to any building.
Conduct routine patrols
Security officers conduct foot patrols in order to observe the activities on the campus, and monitor individuals, or any situations, which could pose a threat to the safety of the students, staff, visitors and tenants.
Access control at gates
Security guards are usually present at the gates to ascertain individual business on the campus, They determine the identity of every person that enters the campus whether is a student, visitor, staff or tenant.
Working relationship with local police
Security department has good relationship with the local Zambia police, Crimes occurring on the campus are reported to the nearest local police for further investigations.
Victims of crime and persons involved in emergency situations on MEF campus, are advised to report incidents to campus security and any local police station. For security department the clients are encouraged to report any emergency using the following numbers
